ANTI-AGEING STARTS WITH SUNSCREEN

Is sunscreen a part of your daily routine? If you answered yes, great! It means you know that sunscreen is the real MVP of any skincare routine. If you answered no, we have some news for you… and you’re not going to like it!

We are blessed with an abundance of sunrays here Australia, but ultraviolet rays are the single biggest cause of premature ageing. This means wrinkles, pigmentation, loss of elasticity and dark spots.

Also, did you know Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world? In fact, it’s known that two in three Australians will be diagnosed with a skin cancer by the age of 70 – we told you, you weren’t going to like it! And if this wasn’t enough of a reason for you to be applying sunscreen every single day – rain, hail or shine – we have many others that we’re sure will be enough to convince you.

After all, no anti-ageing regime will be working at its best if you’re not incorporating the number 1 anti-ageing product into your routine: yes, sunscreen!

BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!

This is a no-brainer: we all know sunscreen is one of our best allies when it comes to helping prevent some skin cancers. What you may not know is that you don’t need to be directly exposed to the sun to be at risk.

In fact, UVA rays have the ability to penetrate not only cloud cover but glass as well – meaning even indoors you can start accumulating sun induced skin damage. What can you do to help prevent this? Well yes, you guessed it: apply-sunscreen-every-single-day!

WHEN IT ALL ADDS UP…

A less known fact is that damage from UV exposure is highly cumulative, meaning adventuring in the sun without proper protection will eventually add up and it can quickly place you at a higher risk of developing malignant tumours as well as undesirable skin effects, like sagging and pigmentation.

Over time, your body no longer has the ability to repair some of the DNA damage caused to the skin cells, potentially leading to the very things we’re trying to prevent: skin cancers and premature ageing.

START TODAY FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

If you’re looking for a more youthful, radiant and glowing complexion, you’re probably already using either our PhysioLift or DermAbsolu ranges – which is great! But if you’re skipping one of the first preventative measure against premature ageing, you may be at risk of developing unwanted fine lines and wrinkles (not to mention you should ALWAYS use sunscreen in conjunction with retinol derivatives anyway!).

Previously seen as an undesirable step for some people, it’s important to note that sunscreens have come a long way in the past years and should be a part of everyone’s routine – no matter your skin type or concern. Our Face Sunscreen Emulsion SPF 50+1 makes for an ideal daily sun protector with its light texture and mattifying finish, and it’s a great, indispensable ally to your everyday skincare routine!

SOUNDS GREAT, BUT HOW DO I INTRODUCE SUNSCREEN TO MY ROUTINE?

Simply apply it after your moisturiser – letting it fully absorb – and before your makeup. And there you have it! Now your skin regime is complete.
